Our Story: Welcoming Newcomers, Strengthening Communities
At International Support for Immigrants (ISFI), our mission is rooted in the belief that every newcomer deserves a warm welcome and the opportunity to thrive. Founded in Auburn, Washington—a city where nearly 15% of residents are foreign-born —we've grown alongside the diverse communities we serve.
Washington State is home to over 1.2 million immigrants, making up 15.5% of the state's population . These individuals contribute significantly to the state's economy, paying nearly $23 billion in taxes in 2023 alone .
In recent years, our region has seen a notable increase in Ukrainian and Russian immigrants. Washington hosts approximately 64,500 Ukrainian Americans , and over 22,000 Ukrainian humanitarian parolees have arrived since 2022 . The state also has one of the largest Russian American populations in the U.S., with about 1.06% of residents identifying as Russian American.
ISFI provides essential services to help immigrants navigate their new lives, including assistance with housing, employment, language acquisition, and community integration. Our team, many of whom are immigrants themselves, understands the challenges of starting over in a new country.
Through our programs, we've witnessed countless stories of resilience and success. From helping families find their first homes to supporting individuals in launching new careers, ISFI is dedicated to building a community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
